SCARY MOVIE 6 IS ABOUT TO BRING FUNNY BACK

Grab your popcorn, hide your good wig, and prepare to laugh until your stomach hurts because Scary Movie is officially back. After years of fans begging for another installment, Scary Movie 6 is set to hit theaters on June 5, and honestly, the timing could not be better.

The world has been flooded with horror movies over the last several years, and that means there is plenty of material for the franchise to poke fun at. Even better, the Wayans brothers are returning after 13 years to the series that helped make Scary Movie a cultural phenomenon in the first place. For longtime fans, that alone is reason enough to get excited.

The upcoming film is being described as a “rebooquel,” blending elements of a reboot and a sequel while bringing back the outrageous comedy and over the top parody that made the original films so successful. The Wayans brothers have not worked together on a Scary Movie project in nearly two decades, making this reunion one of the most anticipated comedy comebacks in years.

And baby, they are not holding back when it comes to the targets.

According to early reports and trailer footage, Scary Movie 6 will take aim at some of the biggest horror hits of the modern era, including Get Out, Nope, Longlegs, Sinners, Smile, M3GAN, and The Substance. The film will also revisit classic horror favorites from the Scream universe and other iconic slasher franchises that horror fans know and love.

Of course, no Scary Movie would be complete without ridiculous celebrity moments, unexpected cameos, and plenty of pop culture references. One of the biggest surprises is a parody of the upcoming Michael movie, with Kenan Thompsonstepping into the role of Michael Jackson for what is sure to be one of the film’s most talked about scenes.

The original Scary Movie became a massive hit because it knew exactly how to balance horror and comedy while making audiences laugh at the movies that had them sleeping with the lights on. If the trailer is any indication, the sixth installment looks ready to continue that tradition for a new generation.

After years of remakes, reboots, and increasingly serious horror films, a little foolishness might be exactly what moviegoers need. And if the Wayans brothers deliver the same chaotic energy that made the originals classics, Scary Movie 6 could end up being one of the funniest releases of the summer.

One thing is certain: horror movies have been putting in overtime over the last few years. Now it is finally their turn to get roasted.
