Vibe Culture Daily does not tiptoe around stories like this, but we are going to keep it real and responsible because this is about a child.
David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, is now facing extremely serious charges in Los Angeles tied to the death of 14 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
According to a newly released court filing from prosecutors, Burke is accused of killing the teenager and later dismembering her body. The filing states that Celeste died after being stabbed, and prosecutors allege that a chainsaw was used afterward to break down her remains.
Burke has been charged with murder, continuous sexual abuse of a minor, and mutilation of a corpse. He has pleaded not guilty.
Now here is where the case gets even more disturbing based on what prosecutors are laying out.
Authorities say Burke had multiple items delivered to his Hollywood home ahead of time, including chainsaws, a shovel, body bags, a so called burn cage, and an inflatable pool. Prosecutors argue these items were intended to help dispose of the victim’s remains.
According to the same court document, Burke allegedly removed two of the victim’s fingers in an attempt to eliminate a tattoo that could connect her to him.
Prosecutors also claim this was not a short term situation. In a nine page brief filed ahead of a preliminary hearing, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman outlined what she describes as an abusive relationship that began when Celeste was just 11 years old.
The filing further states that prosecutors believe Celeste was killed after she threatened to expose the alleged abuse, something they say Burke feared would damage his music career.
To be clear, these details come from prosecutors and are part of an ongoing case. Burke has denied the allegations, and the court process will determine the outcome.
Still, the information already made public is raising serious questions about abuse, power, and how a situation like this could go on for so long.
At the center of all of this is a 14 year old girl whose life ended far too soon. That should never get lost in the headlines.
We will continue to follow this case as more information comes out.
