According to court proceedings this week, Minaj has satisfied a six figure civil judgment tied to a lawsuit involving her husband Kenneth Petty. Attorneys confirmed that the judgment awarded to Thomas Weidenmuller has been paid in full, effectively closing the door on a situation that could have forced the superstar to sell her home if the money was not handled. Yes, the court was absolutely prepared to put that house on the chopping block.
The lawsuit dates back to 2019 when Weidenmuller, a former bodyguard, accused Petty of assaulting him backstage during one of Minaj’s shows. When neither Minaj nor Petty responded to the lawsuit at the time, the court issued a default judgment totaling $503,318.02. And before anyone starts clutching pearls, Minaj has previously said she did not even know the lawsuit existed because a former business manager failed to inform her. Right before the most recent hearing, Weidenmuller’s attorney Paul Saso notified the court that Minaj’s team had already resolved the matter. He later admitted the agreement came together at the last minute and even apologized to the judge for the sudden shift in plans. While the specific details of the payment or settlement were not disclosed, the judge openly acknowledged that the alternative would have required Minaj to sell her home. That scenario is now officially dead and buried.
